Trends

In trends, DeepNews shows which actors (politicians, athletes, ...) were written about, how often, where, and with what importance.

How does DeepNews determine the people in trends?

DeepNews matches all the people appearing in an article to the current, language-matching Wikipedia.

How are a person's ranking and trend determined?

For each article, DeepNews determines the prominence of the mention and weights it by the relevance of the article source.

DeepNews then determines, differentiated by category, the relevance of an actor as the sum of the weighted mentions (see above) across all articles.

Placement and trend then result as relevance (-gradient) over different lengths of time.
